Lucio Iorillo, 64 years old, a former worker of the Taburno Mountain Community, is said to have hired two killers to take justice into his own hands against the man who in 2007 had abused his 15-year-old daughter, who committed suicide a few months after that violence. With this motivation, the prosecutor of the Benevento prosecutor’s office, Stefania Bianco, requested the indictment of the man, originally from Frasso Telesino, in the Benevento area, on trial for the murder which occurred in 2018. According to the prosecutor, Iorillo, he is the instigator of the murder of Giuseppe Matarazzo, a 45-year-old shepherd, also from the same town, killed on 19 July 2018 by gunshots in front of his house.

The facts

Matarazzo had been out of prison about a month ago. He had paid with nine years in prison, out of the eleven years and six months inflicted for the abuse of the minor. The young 15-year-old, after her events, took her own life by hanging herself from a tree in the countryside of the town. Three weeks ago the Supreme Court of Cassation annulled, ordering a further second degree judgment, the sentence with which the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Naples had acquitted the killers, namely Giuseppe Massaro, 59 years old from Sant’ Agata dei Goti, and Generoso Nasta, 34 years old from San Felice a Cancello (Caserta) already sentenced to life imprisonment by the Court of Assizes of Benevento in 2021 as material executors. According to the prosecution, both with criminal records, they had obtained the car and the gun used for the crime, then acted with their faces uncovered and executed the man with five copies of a 357 Magnum caliber pistol. According to the prosecution, Iorillo, the girl’s father, commissioned the murder after paying approximately 20 thousand euros, a sum partly paid to the alleged killers. Contacted by Ansa, Iorillo, who is defended by the lawyer Raimondo Salvione, declares “that he is completely unrelated to the matter”. He expects to appear on November 27th before the Gup of the Court of Benevento, who will therefore have to decide whether or not to start the trial against him.
