THE RESTYLING OF THE GATTINARA PORTICOS KICKS OFF
The redevelopment work on the city porticoes will start next week, one of the most awaited activities of the interventions financed with the Piedmont Region tender for the Urban Commercial District.
Thanks to the very important non-repayable financing of 250,000 Euros, the portico system will be completely redeveloped, which includes in addition to painting, the fixing of all those damaged parts and a new lighting system to enhance them, without burdening the owners of the properties in any way.
This is a challenging project aimed at giving a new face to the historic center of the cityà, which sees the administration engaged in a team game that involves not only citizens but also commercial operators in the area.
The historic centre, in fact, in addition to being the natural visiting card of the city, is part of the natural commercial center promoted with the DUC and supported by the municipal administration.
Redeveloping the Porticoes means giving prestige and further impetus to the entire city and enhancing commercial activities which overlook the main streets and above all means contributing to making Gattinara more beautiful, relaunching small businesses in the entire area.
The porticoes of Gattinara are a space much enjoyed by citizens, but have long been in need of redevelopment, the aim is to make the portico system a more tidy, well-kept place, with uniformity of colors and also safer thanks to the new lighting.
The design idea is to create a pleasant meeting and aggregation space with the installation of new street furniture elements.
The realization of the project will require a few months of work. The work schedule, which will begin on May 20, has been postponed so as not to cause inconvenience to commercial operators, who have their business under the arcades. Therefore it was agreed to divide the interventions into steps to reach their conclusion by the month of September also to respect the timing of the related financing and prepare the consequent reporting.
The porticoes will be divided into sectors, and each sector will have its specific intervention which will follow a specific timeline. During the works, access to commercial establishments will always be guaranteed.
Therefore, an action aimed at enhancing the city center is underway to return the porticoes to the Gattinaresi according to a new concept of livability and sociability.
