Two hundred housing professionals in Confindustria Cuneo for “Voices

On Thursday 16 May a day dedicated to living professionals, during which a valuable discussion was initiated and ecologically sustainable visions for the mountain area were designed. The event, included in the schedule of the Cuneo Montagna Festival and Cuneo Città Alpina 2024, was hosted in the Sala Ferrero of Casa Betania, headquarters of Confindustria Cuneo. L’Art.ur Associationwith the architects Dario Castellino and Alice Lusso, proposed a training event consisting of two long meetings, both in the morning and in the afternoon, in which approximately 200 architects, engineers and surveyors. The conference, curated and moderated by Luca Gibello, director of Il Giornale dell’Architettura, featured authoritative speakers and, during the round tables, other figures with diversified skills and representatives of local authorities.

In the first meeting BUILDING COMMUNITIES, the speakers Antonio De Rossi, Giorgio Azzoni and Armando Ruinelli invited reflections on the role of the project – building or territorial – as a tool to enhance local resources, confer quality to contexts, promote social cohesion and develop a sense of belonging . We asked ourselves, with respect to this framework of principles, how the various public and private entities involved in the governance of territories can contribute. Thereafternoon meetingby title BUILDING SUPPLY CHAINS, thanks to the interventions of Guido Callegari, Marta Baretti, Sara Carbonera and Daniele Regis, led to the analysis of the role of territorial actors in their ability to create a system, connecting skills and developing integrated offers for the construction world, starting from available resources. Thinking about wood, the raw material par excellence of the Alpine territories, there was a debate on the possibility of creating a short supply chain that can keep competitiveness and eco-compatibility together.

Cuneo Alpine City – declares the Mountain Metro Department – has the opportunity to take stock of itself. After understanding its territorial uniqueness, today was an opportunity to analyze the very interesting architectural results that have emerged in the last 15 years in our territory and recognized throughout Italy. A unique regenerative architectural process is underway across the entire Alpine range, the result of complex work made up of supply chains, universities and architectural quality. The professionals of the Cuneo area are increasingly aware of the potential that our territory has and are demonstrating sensitivity and an approach appreciated by other Alpine areas.”

The architect adds Luca Gibello, curator of the Festival: “The double meeting represented an important opportunity to give concreteness and content to the concept of “metromountain”: an indispensable connection between ideas, actions and integrated policies to be implemented in a synergistic logic between insiders and outsiders who have the issues of management of our delicate Alpine territories at heart. Today more than ever we need to identify and promote good practices capable of making the mountains habitable according to eco-compatibility principles, well aware that “hit and run” tourism is a model with no future.”

The President of the Art.ur Association Michela Giuggia: “We are very satisfied with having created a new format that talks about architecture and thinks about the territory and living, in synergy with the professionals and administrators of the territory. A valuable analysis and a first step for eco-compatible and systemic design, in a territory that has the will and ability to enhance its Alpine identity.”
