Municipal authorities: in Cagliari ‘anomalies and omissions on the admitted lists’

CAGLIARI, 17 MAY – Inconsistencies, anomalies and formal omissions in the admission of the lists for the municipal elections of the next 8 and 9 June in Cagliari: denounced by Simone Paini, representative of the Civic Movement, the list in support of the centre-right candidate Alessandra Zedda who he turned to the TAR after his exclusion from the competition and is waiting for the ruling on readmission tomorrow at 11am. Paini, on behalf of the Civic Movement, requested and obtained access to the documents of the electoral office of Palazzo Bacaredda: “From the official minutes – he explains to ANSA – a serious fact emerges in particular which demonstrates how double standards were used measures in the evaluation of the documentation delivered, we were penalized. Previously we considered the actions of the Municipality officials as that of a referee, today we can say that the referee resembles the famous Moreno of the World Cup in Korea”, he quips. From the reading of the documents in possession, according to the contact person, the list of independentists of A Innantis, in support of the opposing candidate of the broad camp Massimo Zedda, would have been admitted despite the failure to deliver within the time required by law (12pm last Saturday, 11 May), of a document, “fundamental requirement which cannot be integrated at a later time: the authenticated declaration of connection with the candidate for mayor”. “The integration was delivered to the offices, as can be seen from the protocol, at 2.32 pm, and the authentic signature is from the general secretary Giantonio Sau himself”, says Paini. Not only that, the final report of the district commission “omits this aspect and writes that the list was delivered at 11.56”. Inconsistencies and omissions which would also be repeated in “the declarations of acceptance of the candidatures of four names, necessary to complete the same list, in which the date is not reported”, he underlines. Urgent appeals are not permitted on these aspects; the law provides, in fact, that the TAR can be addressed before the elections only for the exclusion of a list and not for any feared defects in admitted lists. This will only be possible after closed consultations: “In Italy there is a lot of jurisprudence and for cases of this kind some elections were then annulled”, highlights Paini. (HANDLE).
