On the occasion of Sustainable Development Festival promoted by ASviS at a national level, 7 – 23 May 2024, the Velletri 2030 Association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Velletri, the support and contribution of the Banca Popolare del Lazio, organized two events with the aim of spreading the culture of Sustainable Development. Respecting the temporal order, let’s now make a brief summary of the day of 15 May, 10.00 – 12.00, Villa Ginnetti Park. Middle schools Andrea Velletrano And Clemente Cardinali of our city, animated the Event of May 15th. Three seventh-grade classes of Clemente Cardinali and four seventh-grade classes of Andrea Velletrano, accompanied by teachers, for a total of approximately 150 girls/girls, participated in an Agenda 2030 Educational Orientation Competition, during which the themes of the 17 objectives of the Agenda. It all took place in the splendid setting of the Villa Ginnetti Municipal Park, in the shade of centuries-old trees illuminated by the light of a sunny spring day. Before the start, the teachers, after having recalled the reasons for the activity that was about to be carried out, first invited Mr. Amedeo Di Mario to give his contribution on the theme of sustainability and the organization of the day, and then the Dr. Sandro Bologna, president of the Velletri 2030 Association, who wanted to encourage the young people present to feel like active and responsible participants in the future that belongs to them. Once this part was completed, a frenetic and cheerful activity began, made up of research, running, questions, comings and goings and answers, an expression of the vitality of this age group.
This interesting activity is now in its third year, recording a growth in attendance. The enthusiasm of the young people and the importance of the topics covered, first at school and then in the park, pushes the organizers to renew the initiative, bringing their thoughts to the 2025 edition, aware of the importance of the benevolent attention that the Earth deserves and suggests.
