From 30 May to 11 September, the eleventh edition of the Word Festival: meetings, concerts, free entry exhibitions, a rich program of events with great guests, including: Stefano Massini, Concita De Gregorio, Paolo Jannacci and many others .

The XI edition of the Festival has as its title SIGNS OF BEAUTY: the beauty of places, of actions, of everything that unites, as opposed to the ugliness of every form of belligerence, disparity, degradation, injustice, separation.
Beauty as the only weapon, white and saving, in antithesis to the warlike and the bully. Starting from the beauty of effectively giving the word to the new generations: with the new collaboration with the Paolo Toschi Art School for the creation of the new coordinated image of the Festival, the result of a PCTO with the Graphics classes and the renewed relationships with the high schools of Parma for the Oratory Challenges, which from this year also involve lower secondary schools.
The structure of the Festival 2024 is similar to that of the last edition, which saw almost 10,000 attendees: main programme, Rides with Literary Quirks, artistic exhibitions and In-Chiostro Music (an event which will take place between the end of August and September and which will be presented soon). All events, as always at the Festival of Words, are FREE and with FREE ENTRY, while places last.
This edition also involves personalities from the scientific, cultural and artistic world, with whom we will develop extremely topical issues: Vera Gheno, Marco Balzano, Stefano Massini, Paolo Jannacci, Piercamillo Davigo, Gabriella Greison, Tonia Cartolano, Concita De Gregorio, Luigi De Magistris, Giulio Cavalli, Giulio Casale, Giacomo Rizzolatti, Kim Aris (son of Aung San Suu Kyi) are just some of the protagonists of the main program of the Festival. The project paths with local and national entities are numerous and increasingly virtuous, with targeted and tangible objectives for the community. To synergies, consolidated, with FIAB, Women and Science, Verdi Choir, CSAC, ANMIC, EMC2, Adolfo Tanzi choir festival, Parma Philharmonic, City Angels new traveling companions are added, operating in education and social work (Artétipi, Italy-Burma Friendship Association, Avalon, Matteo Bagnaresi Foundation, Proges)in information (Wikimafia, Italy that changes). He left with Narrow Horizons the creative writing project at the Parma Prison on “poets of music”, started in 2019 with Gaber: this year groups of inmates worked on Fabrizio De André’s texts.
In continuity with the last edition, the Festival confirms the great attention to the language of images with two exhibition moments: the one with the black and white shots of Gio Rossi with his “Reflected Identities” and the one with the illustrations of Luca Sonciniart director of “The Parmigianer”.
They return, with five appointments, from May 18th to June 30th, the RIDES WITH LITERARY QUISQUILIASin co-organization with FIAB Parma Bicinsieme: a traveling exhibition that will lead the cycle-spectators towards the various destinations with a high historical and landscape content, where the literary Quiquilie will take place.
The Festival of the Word, which after the summer break will propose again (from 26 August) the MUSICA IN-CHIOSTRO exhibition, it is an initiative of Rinascimento 2.0 aps, created thanks to the contribution of the Municipality of Parma, to the main sponsor Opem SpA, to the sponsors GruppoHera, BCC Emil Banca, Oiki, Marella Srl, Imeta, Gallani arredamenti, with the patronage of the Emilia-Romagna Region. Other institutional partners: Province of Parma, Municipality of Traversetolo, Municipality of Sorbolo and Mezzani, Municipality of Felino, Municipality of Montechiarugolo, Municipality of Sissa, Cariparma Foundation.
