Unci Campania, job security and quality of employment: good steps forward

The Unci Campania National Union of Italian Cooperatives has signed a memorandum of understanding to guarantee quality employment in the context of cohesion policies to protect the health and safety of workers, with the Campania Region and with all the subjects that join to the economic and social partnership of the institution, which includes trade unions, employers’ organisations, professional associations, the Labor Inspectorate, INPS and local administrations.

Not a simple declaration of principle, but an agreement which, through the recognition of reward criteria for companies that sign up and participate in regional public tenders, is able to guarantee safe and healthy working conditions and environments, thus promoting well-being and productivity.

A commitment to rigorously implement the safety regulations, raising the standards with specific measures, and improving the application of collective agreements, but also a path for the transformation of contracts from fixed-term to indefinite-term, in particular with regards to female employment, and protecting disabled workers.

“This is an important step forward – stated Gennaro Scognamiglio, president of Unci Campania – on the delicate front of safety in the workplace, an issue particularly felt by the authentic cooperative sector, which is inspired by the values of mutualism and has as its priority the promotion of work and the affirmation of businesses with a social profile. With this protocol, which stands as a cutting-edge experience in Italy, thanks to the concrete collaboration put in place between the regional council, social partners and employers’ associations, we want to launch a significant challenge: to increase stable and quality work in Campania” .
