Casoria, a day dedicated to art and culture

The explosive energy of In-Canto Sanità Casoriarrevot arrives in Casoria, a project promoted by the Municipality of Casoria and financed by the Metropolitan City of Naples.

On Saturday 18 May, from 10.30am, with an opening dedicated to children’s activities, a day of musical, artistic, cultural and social initiatives is scheduled which will last until the evening and will lead to the first white night of the city of Casoria. «Saturday will be a historic day for the city of Casoria – declares the Mayor of Casoria Raffaele Bene -. We managed to unite all age groups in the name of aggregation, entertainment and solidarity, proposing important names in music and moments of great solidarity. We managed to enhance many Casori sites with events: an important step in the way of experiencing the City.”

«Casoriarrevot is an initiative that starts from afar and which will offer unique moments, such as the attempt to beat the record of the longest tart to raise funds for research on rare pediatric diseases culminating with the concert in the stadium – declares the municipal councilor for Kindness Roberta Giova –. Many events and different artists for an exhibition that we hope will become a point of reference for Casoria in the future.”

The artistic direction is curated by Massimo Jovine and Gianni Simioli, who on the stage of the Campo Sportivo have set up a live show with over 20 artists, Marsica, Ciccio Merolla, Tartaglia, Federica Ottombrino, Simona Boo, Gaiè, Jovine, Pepp oh, Silvia Uras, Raffica , Montecreesto, Nicola Caso, Vincenzo Comunale, Mr Hyde, Ivan Granatino, Emiliana Cantone, I Desideri, Greg Rega, Marika Cecere, Fabrizio Mandara, Rayo, Ortel, presented by the speakers of Radio Marte. Together with Gianni Simioli, there will be Lorenzo Muto, Rosanna Iannaccone and Ciro Salatino.

The concert will start at 8.00 pm. Meanwhile, at 7.00 pm, in the spaces of the Sacred Heart Institute, busker music is scheduled. The day of Casoriarrevot begins at 10.30 at Palacasoria, in viale Michelangelo, with workshops and magic shows and acrobatic circus for children; and with the display of the Guinness Book of Records tart, the largest tart in the world, for a fundraiser to be allocated to the diagnostic, assistance and research activities of the Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Immune System Program of the group that deals with immunodeficiencies of the Federico II University Hospital – Department of integrated maternal and child activities. In particular, the funds will be used to renovate and adapt the structures of a bedroom for young patients equipped with HEPA filters, necessary for the treatment of these pathologies. The morning will also be characterized by extraordinary openings, both of the shops and of the museum sites and the monumental heritage of the city: the Basilica of San Benedetto, the Church of San Mauro and the church of the Sacramentine nuns. The children will act as tour guides to the sites. From 4.00 pm, it will be possible to visit the collective exhibition of Italian and international cartoonists and illustrators “Falestin Hurra”, set up in the spaces of the Brando Institute.

“Falastin Hurra”, curated by Alino, Giansandro Morelli and Guido Piccoli, is an exhibition that offers the visitor illustrations and cartoons in support of the Palestinian cause and which continues to add pieces to the exhibition. To the 30 works of the central nucleus of “Falastin Hurra”, 20 from the “Kufia” project and 83 from the “Handala” project have been added, for a total of 153 images on display, but he is continuing to collect new material.

In addition to this, an explanatory timeline of Israel’s invasive path in the Palestinian territories is proposed, created by some young Neapolitan university students. The exhibition poster is extracted from Giuseppe Palumbo’s drawing for the first Kufia project, pencils for Palestine, from 1988.

From 5.30pm, Mondadori Store hosts the presentations of records and books. Meeting the public will be Valerio Jovine who will talk about his new album “Sincero”, Andrea Tartaglia with his new album “Where I want to stay”, Sabba who will talk about “Sabba and the Incensurables play Battisti”, the new vinyl recorded live at Auditorium Novecento with a string quartet, written and directed by Alessandro Crescenzo. On Sunday 19 May, at 7.00 pm, in the Church of Santa Maria Francesca delle cinque piaghre, “Flo in duo” is scheduled, a show with which Flo, together with Federico Luongo on guitar, sings his songs and tells his life story, with anecdotes collected in the book “The song I owe you” (Coppola Editore).
