The Tour of the Anti-Violence Project “Comuni in Rete” today stopped at the “Garibaldi” room of the Municipality of Montelanico, where the Velletri Public Prosecutor’s Office signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the mayors of Montelanico and Gavignano and the respective Civil Protections, continuing the process of expanding the anti-violence network, which began in 2018.

The meeting, moderated by the journalist Marco Ferretti, opened with institutional greetings from Sandro Onorati, mayor of Montelanico and Ivan Ferrari, mayor of the nearby municipality of Gavignano, both municipalities close to the Lazio mountains in the province of Rome under the of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Court of Velletri. The lawyer Fabrizio Di Paola, Commissioner of the 18th Community Monti Lepini Roman area, also spoke. Their interventions had as a common denominator the highlighting of the importance of networking in combating violence. Both on the part of the institutions and on the part of the entire community.

The chief prosecutor of Velletri, Giancarlo Amato, who wanted this project in the 30 municipalities of the Veliterna Prosecutor’s Office, underlined: “the importance of constant training and awareness-raising of the community, and in particular of the new generations, on the topic of violence gender. Their education in the value of mutual respect, avoiding any form of violence in conflicts. These principles constitute the basis for the creation of a future society that is healthy and respectful of others.”

The deputy commissioner of the Local Police of Ciampino, Marcello Pezzi, spoke for the anti-violence team of the Prosecutor’s Office, illustrating the functioning and contents of the online platform www.vonteirete.it of the Velletri Prosecutor’s Office, highlighting the importance of reporting every phenomenon of violence, even immediately, to allow the victim to receive support and protection by making use of the means and figures made available by this project: Social Workers from the local Municipalities and Local Health Authorities, Counsellors, Help Desk, Law Enforcement, Associations of Women’s Help and Support.

The lawyer Patrizia La Rosa intervened by presenting the “Orienting for Orienting” Listening Help Desk, involving the students present in the room on the topic of gender violence, who were particularly involved and interested in the topic being discussed.

Then spoke the lawyer Alessio Mazzocchi, the parish priest of Montelanico Don Daniele Valenzi and finally the lawyer Eleonora Mattia, President of Coreco and member of the equal opportunities commission of the Lazio Regional Council.

Present at the meeting was the commander of the local Carabinieri station, Marshal Mario Paolo Anglano.
