New: here is the Rome Half Marathon

The first edition of the Rome Half Marathon, the half marathon organized by RomaOstia and RCS Sports & Events, will take place on Sunday 20 October. 500 bibs still available before the registration fee increases.

The panorama of Italian half marathons is enriched with a new event which will touch on the most scenic points of the capital. The proven combination between RCS Sport Events And RomeOstia has in fact announced the organization of the first edition of Rome Half Marathon which will take place on Sunday 20 October. An event that promises to soon become a must for running enthusiasts, thanks to a route that enhances the historical and artistic heritage of Rome.

The competition will start from the evocative setting of the Colosseum and will wind through some of the most emblematic places of the city, such as the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and the Baths of Caracalla, offering participants the opportunity to run in a real museum open sky. The itinerary was designed to combine sporting challenge and scenic beauty, with sections that will allow you to best express your athletic abilities in an urban context that is unique in the world.

The Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtiericommented on the initiative with enthusiasm: “The first half marathon organized among the wonders of our artistic heritage is another great challenge to enhance the beauty of our city through a major international event that brings together running, culture, tourism and attention for health.”

In addition to the half marathon, the event will include a charity relay and the Longevity Run, a non-competitive 5 kilometer run, promoting the importance of sport as an element of well-being and prevention. These initiatives are supported by the Policlinico Gemelli IRCCS Foundation, which will offer free check-ups and raise awareness of correct lifestyles.
