Vittorio Veneto, house “visited” by thieves twice in a few days: “I have to raise the alarm!” | Today Treviso | News

VITTORIO VENETO – “No, no hip”. Two visits from petty thieves in less than a month are too many. Better to take action. Paolo Castagnera resides in via Piave 37, at the northern gates of Vittorio. His house is located in Village of Zanchi, a small group of houses surrounded by vegetable gardens bordered by a simple iron mesh fence. A network that was severed both at the end of April and a few days ago.

“It was not a simple act of vandalism – explains Castagnera – but an unsuccessful attempt to enter the property, both mine and that of some neighbors who have houses in the same area. An attempt that unfortunately has been repeated other times, given that it is the fourth time in two years that I have received …unwelcome visits. On one occasion the thieves even broke a glass window to enter the house. This time they just created a hole in the net.” In the past Paolo Castagnera filed a complaint with the police because the apartment had actually been violated. On the most recent occasions he has had to limit himself to a report.

“However, I decided to mention it to the press, to warn the residents of the neighborhood of the presence of thugs – I believe they are clumsy and amateur thieves – who however can create problems and above all take away the serenity of families and elderly people who live alone. ” In the past Castagnera took steps to illuminate the green area that surrounds the house, but now he admits that he is worried to the point of deciding to install a video surveillance system. “Who knows if the alarm is a deterrent – she admits. – The important thing is to find peace of mind. Although it is always sad to think of having to resort to these solutions.”
