Pesaro, 13 June 2024 – “This it is a victory for our city”. This is how the municipal secretary of the Democratic Party, Giampiero Bellucci welcomed the new mayor Andrea Biancani and the newly elected European parliamentarian, Matteo Ricci on the stage set up yesterday in Piazzale della Libertà, where the people of the centre-left had been gathered to celebrate the electoral results.
An evening to which all the candidates could not be missing and the outgoing municipal councilors, as well as the mayor of Vallefoglia Palmiro Ucchielli and the former governor of the Marche and former mayor of Pesaro, Luca Ceriscioli. The first to speak was Matteo Ricci, who today will carry out the official handover from mayor to Andrea Biancani. “I’m starting to realize now, because until yesterday I was counting the preferences – he said from the stage –. A lot of credit for this success goes to the people who also worked in the shadows, thinking about the team’s result. I also thank all my press office , who was among the architects of my media visibility, which had a great impact on obtaining around 105 thousand preferences. I then thank our city and the Marche region, as well as the Roman Democratic Party, with which we have made an agreement. I will start working next week in Brussels. I will work for this region, because we must remove it from the provincialism in which Acquaroli has placed it”.
And he continues: “There is another really important result, that of Pesaro. If we continue to win in the first round, it means that we have worked well, without confronting the I but only the We. I’m sure Andrea will do well.”
