The “Run for” will take place on the morning of Sunday 19 May in Foggia, along some city streets. It is a running event with a national road running competition along a 10km Fidal approved route, which is accompanied by a 5km recreational-sports walk called “Walk for Legality and Inclusion”, part of the initiative ” 100 days for Legality”, promoted by the municipal administration.

This year the departure, at 9.00 am, and arrival are scheduled in via Galliani, which will be closed to traffic starting from 7.00 am with a ban on parking and removal and forced from 6.00 am.

The local police command also announces that along some roads there will be a parking ban with forced removal on Sunday morning, starting from 6 am and until the end of the demonstration.

The streets affected by the parking ban are:

  • via M. Mazzei;
  • via A. Gramsci;
  • via A. Grandi;
  • via G. De Petra;
  • via G. Patroni;
  • v.le Michelangelo (central carriageway);
  • via A. Guglielmi (roadway adjacent to the “Campi Diomedei” park from viale Michelangelo to viale Fortore).

The roads affected by the route will be temporarily closed to traffic, which will be diverted onto neighboring roads. Approximately, the closure is scheduled from 08.30 am to 11.00 am and in any case until the end of the event.

Transits and crossings motivated by situations of necessity will be permitted, to the extent possible, without compromising the safety conditions of the event.

The roads will, however, gradually be reopened to traffic once all participants have passed through. Due to the progressive distancing of the runners, some additional discomfort could be felt in Ordona Sud; Flower Park; Yellow Spot; V. De Petra; viale I Maggio; viale Michelangelo; via Guglielmi; viale Fortore and via Galliani.

“As has already been done for other similar events, with the local police command we are working to ensure maximum safety for participants and the least possible inconvenience to fellow citizens – says the Sports Councilor, Domenico Di Molfetta. We hope that next Sunday will also be a beautiful and participatory day of sport, demonstrating Foggia’s desire to become an attractive and hospitable city for everyone”.
