OLBIA. The surgeon Paolo Anibaldi is the new medical director of the Mater Olbia Hospital. It happens to Dr Giorgio Sorrentino, who will support him in the first period of work, remaining in support of the management of the Mater
Dr. Anibaldi, former corporate health director of the Sant’Andrea University Hospital in Rome, brings with him considerable academic training and vast professional experience. After graduating cum laude with a degree in medicine and surgery at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and specializing in general surgery at the University of Tor Vergata, he completed with honors the second level master’s degree in management and innovation of health companies (MIAS) and the PhD in hygiene and public health – legal medicine and forensic science curriculum. Anibaldi also held managerial roles at the Rieti ASL.
“Being the new medical director of the Mater Olbia Hospital represents for me a stimulating professional and human challenge, in a new place, within a modern hospital and – at the same time – deeply linked to the territory in which it operates – declares Anibaldi -. The welcome I received from the management, from the previous medical director and from my colleagues made me already feel part of a team: it will be a priority for me to work immediately to get to know all the people at the MOH, enhancing their skills and stimulating even more sense of belonging, to continue together to respond in a concrete way to the needs of citizens and offer an excellent service to the territory”.
After losing the use of his legs due to a medullary angioma at 17, Anibaldi was the first surgeon in Italy, and the third in the world, to operate standing up thanks to a chair created for him, which allows him to stand up and lower yourself independently.
