With a changing of the guard that sees Carlo Conti succeed Amadeus, Area Sanremo confirms its guideline for the 2024 edition, focusing on the veteran of the Sanremo Festival for the organization and artistic direction.
This decision follows a model successfully introduced by Amadeus, aimed at giving continuity to the competition and making it more attractive for emerging singers from all over Italy.
The collaboration with Rai and the organization of the Festival was a strategic move that differentiated Area Sanremo from other singing competitions, leading to an increase in registrations and improving both the quality and satisfaction of participants.
Registrations open from mid-July
The 2024 edition, organized by the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra Foundation in collaboration with Rai and with the new “captain” Carlo Conti, has already established as its first objective the opening of registrations for mid-July, a move that could mark a record for the competition.
«We are strong in concrete experience, the perplexities of the past have been dispelled by the results obtained», says Filippo Biolè, president of the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra Foundation. «If there were the same intention on the part of the Rai artistic direction, I would be very happy to continue on this path already open. We have the ambition to come out as soon as possible with the publication of the notice and with registrations by mid-July.”
This formula, also appreciated for the guarantee offered to young talents in the selections, is seen as an advantage by Biolè, which underlines the importance of a unified approach in the selection of participants, a crucial element for maintaining the identity of the Festival.
«The Sanremo area continues to represent a strong unique moment», adds Biolè. “It’s the ‘American Dream’ for those who are highly talented and it’s nice to give them an opportunity they wouldn’t otherwise have.”
