Zerocalcare will be a partner of a restaurant in Rome called “Osteria Sauli” in La Garbatella. The innkeeper, as reported by Gambero Rosso, will be chef Antonello Magliari and the restaurant will have the aim of helping women victims of violence: hence the collaboration with the women’s house of Rome Lucha y Siesta. “We immediately accepted and shared Michele’s (Zerocalcare) idea: to open a real Roman tavern in one of the most authentic neighborhoods of Rome but also create the conditions to be useful from a social point of view” Magliari tells Gambero Rosso. The cuisine will be mainly Roman with dishes from Abruzzo and Puglia accompanied by loose wine, typical of an osteria. 25 seats seating, open only for dinner. For lunch only on weekends.
Zerocalcare: “I wanted to lend a hand”
In a story on Instagram, Zerocalcare then clarified: “I’m not about to open a tavern due to obvious gastro-entrepreneurial shortcomings. “I took a share in a place that will open because I wanted to contribute and lend a hand to a project involving friends. and friends and people I trust.”
