In Faenza, on Sunday 16 June 2024 from 8 to 11.30, the XXXIV “Vallata del Senio” historic car rally will take place, the first “Luigi Rivola” memorial. In the splendid setting of Piazza del Popolo, citizens of Faenza and enthusiasts of vintage cars and motorbikes will be able to see up close about a hundred historic cars, produced between 1920 and 1981, perfectly restored, carefully preserved and in circulation.
At 11.30 there will be a greeting from the deputy mayor Andrea Fabbri, while a Lions stand will be present from 8 in front of the Central Bar for the collection of new or used glasses and lenses and sunglasses; this year there will also be a gazebo of the local section of the Italian Red Cross for diabetes screening from 8.30 to 11.35. In fact, some of the most well-known Lions services concern the prevention of diabetes and the protection of sight (prevention of blindness, early diagnosis of childhood visual problems and help to disadvantaged populations thanks to the reuse of used glasses, collected and repaired by a special center assistance).
At 11.35 the caravan will leave for the hills of Brisighella to end with lunch at the ‘5 Cucchiai’ restaurant at Villa Abbondanzi in Faenza. The event organized by the Faenza Lions Club (Faenza Host President Alessia Ponti, Valli Faentine President Omar Giama and Faenza Lioness President Simonetta Baroncini) and by CRAME (Club Romagnolo Auto e Moto d’Epoca, President Luciano Marzocchi) has Franco DONATI as field contacts (for CRAME) and Marco Spina and Bruno Zama (for the Lions clubs).
