Good news for the University of Parma from the 2024 ranking of the Center for World University Rankings – CWUR.

Parma remains firmly in 14th place among Italian universities in the ranking, second in Emilia-Romagna after Bologna, and is in the top 400 in the world: in 389th place. In Europe the University is in 160th place.

In one of the items that make up the ranking, “Faculty” (ranking drawn up on the basis of the number of academics who have won important awards), the University of Parma is the best in Italy.

Percentile-wise, it is in the top 1.9% in the world.

The CWUR ranking, led again this year by Harvard, examines approximately 21 thousand universities from all over the world, using mainly teaching, research, employment and international awards relating to each university as evaluation parameters.

Four parameters examined by the CWUR Ranking:
1) Education (based on the academic success of current and former students, measured against the size of the university)
2) Employability (based on the professional success of former students, measured against the size of the university)
3) Faculty (score calculated on the basis of the number of academics who have won important awards)
4) Research:
a) Research output (score calculated on the basis of the total number of research articles)
b) High-quality publications (score calculated on the basis of the number of research articles published in high-level journals)
c) Influence (score calculated on the basis of the number of research articles published in highly influential journals)
d) Citations (score calculated on the basis of the number of “highly-cited” research articles)

As mentioned, in the 2024 ranking the University of Parma reports excellent results, particularly in the “Faculty” item, where it is in 93rd place in the world: the best in Italy.

Good placement also in the Education section, where it ranks 287th in the world, third in Italy after the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa (101st place) and the University of Turin (244th place).
