With an Article signed by Paolo Guido Bassi dated 13 May 2024, the Lombardy Region announces that the Regional Council – on the proposal of the Councilor for Family, Social Solidarity, Disability and Equal Opportunities, in collaboration with the Councilor for Education and Training – has allocated 12 million euros to promote the educational inclusion of students with sensory disabilities. At the same time, the guidelines for the provision of support services to children and their families will be updated.

The Councilor for Family, Social Solidarity, Disability and Equal Opportunities declares that with this funding for students with sensory disabilities the intention is to improve the inclusion services dedicated to young people who are blind, visually impaired, deaf and with serious hearing problems.

Following the monitoring of the application of the regional guidelines and considering the results of the comparison with the ATS, ANCI and the Regional Table for Disability, it was decided to continue along the path of improvement of the same, introducing further elements of qualification of the targeted interventions to guarantee students inclusive paths that are increasingly responsive to the needs and difficulties of every child/pupil/student with sensory disabilities.
