CAROVIGNO – In Carovigno, in the late evening of May 13th, the Carabinieri of the local station and of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Company of San Vito dei Normanni (BR) executed an order for the application of precautionary custody in prison issued by the GIP of the Court of Brindisi at the request of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office against a 21-year-old local man. The investigative activity was born following the attempted murder, committed with 4 stab wounds, against a Gambian citizen who on 15 August 2023 was carrying out the task of guardian at a seaside resort in Carovigno. The investigations conducted, both traditional and technical, made it possible to highlight elements of crime against the young man. The arrested person is being investigated for attempted murder aggravated by frivolous motives and for illegal possession of a bladed weapon. The investigation made it possible to reconstruct the phases of the attempted murder and the responsibilities of the alleged perpetrator.
The suspect is to be considered presumed innocent in consideration of the current phase of the proceedings until a definitive finding of guilt with an irrevocable sentence.
