The professor obtained 96 preferences out of 98 valid votes. He will remain in office until 31 October 2025
Professor Vincenzo Pezzi is the new director of the Department of Pharmacy and Health and Nutrition Sciences (DFSSN) of the University of Calabria. There were 98 eligible voters and the voter turnout was 100 percent. Pezzi obtained 96 preferences (97.9%) out of the 98 valid votes cast (the ballot recorded 2 blank ballots).
Voting operations were carried out entirely electronically on the Eligo platform.
It was a round of by-elections, called pursuant to art. 8.1 of the University Statute to obtain alignment of the duration of directorial mandates (for departments expiring by 1 November 2024) with that of senatorial mandates. For this reason Vincenzo Pezzi – who takes over at the helm of the department after the three-year period of directorship of Professor Maria Luisa Panno – will remain in office until 31 October 2025.
Vincenzo Pezzi is a full professor of Cellular and Applied Biology, since 2020 he has been a member of the board of directors of the University of Calabria and has been an academic senator.
He was an elected member of the steering committee of the Italian Association of General and Molecular Biology and Genetics (AIBG) and commissioner for the national scientific qualification for first and second level professors – SC 05/F1 – Applied Biology.
Author of 120 scientific publications, he is coordinator of numerous research projects in the field of cellular mechanisms underlying the onset and progression of endocrine tumors.
He is part of the editorial committee of numerous scientific journals in the biomedical field and holds the Cellular Biology course in the Medicine and Surgery degree course (Digital Technologies).
