At Cinema La Compagnia a review dedicated to the masterpieces of world cinema of the 20th century

Rediscover the best of world cinema of the 20th century through a review of timeless masterpieces to be seen again in theaters in the original language, thanks to the precious collaboration with CSC – Cineteca Nazionale: it is the new series of titles of the “Compagnia Cult” review scheduled until end of June 2024 at the ‘La Compagnia’ cinema in Florence. European Night of Museums, free entry to the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo

On the evening of May 18, the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo in Florence will be open to the public free of charge in the evening. To enter you will not need a ticket or reservation. Festival of creative work, at the Visarno Hippodrome markets, music and street food with “Vivo”

After the postponement due to bad weather, VIVO – Creative Labor Day is finally in the starting blocks, initially scheduled for May 1st and now scheduled for Sunday May 19th. Immersed in the greenery of the Visarno Hippodrome in Florence, it will be possible to explore the Creative Market and the artisanal works presented by the exhibitors, taste the delicacies offered by selected food trucks and, last but certainly not least, enjoy the DJ sets of great Italian artists and international. Empolissima

Finally a new foray into the center for the traditional ANVA-Confersercenti market; The spring edition of Empolissima will take place on Sunday 19 May. The location of the stalls concentrated between via Roma and via Tinto da Battifolle has been confirmed with spaces redesigned to coexist with the many city construction sites and careful selection of operators. Galluzzo at the fair

Galluzzo at the fair will be held on Sunday 19 May in Piazza al Galluzzo. The square will be filled with a market selling various items, clothing, bags and shoes, costume jewellery, household linen. The Fierucola in Santo Spirito

On Sunday 19 May in Piazza Santo Spirito in Florence, La Fierucola returns, the traditional local producers’ market which each time follows a special theme. La Fierucola is an open-air market that offers products from local companies, in the name of organic and biodynamic. Delight festival: street food and vintage market at the Limonaia di Villa Strozzi

The “Delight Festival” arrives on Sunday 19 May at the Limonaia of Villa Strozzi, a combination of street food and a vintage market in collaboration with Only Usato. All the info here.

Good bike festival

The traveling event to celebrate the world of cycling on the occasion of the historic passage of the Tour de France in Italy. Good Bike! Gente di Bici is a traveling event with free entry that will take place within this great celebration, a real tour between the cities of departures and arrivals of the Grande Boucle, to celebrate the Tour de France and its 1st time in Italy and to promote the culture of the cycling world. Antiquarian independence

On Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May, the historic appointment with Indipendenza Antiquaria returns to Florence, like every third Sunday of the month and the previous Saturday. The event which has taken place every month for over 18 years (excluding July and August), boasts the presence of more than 100 operators in the antiques sector from all over Italy and an audience of enthusiasts who come from all over Tuscany. Creative Factory, the urban market organized by the Heyart Association, returns to the heart of Florence, from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th May. Three days of vintage at Palazzo Corsini. The Florence Vintage Market, the vintage clothing and accessories market organized by the File Foundation (Italian lenitherapy foundation), is back for its ninth edition. At Palazzo Strozzi the great exhibition “Anselm Kiefer. Fallen Angels”

Palazzo Strozzi hosts a large exhibition conceived and created together with one of the most important artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, Anselm Kiefer. The exhibition allows you to come into direct contact with the great German master through a journey between historical works and new productions, including a new large work created in dialogue with the Renaissance courtyard. At Cinema La Compagnia three documentaries on football that you don’t expect

The union between the big screen and the game of football, realized several times in some masterpieces of the history of cinema, is renewed with the review of three documentaries, entitled In campo – Il calcio al cinema with Ultimo Uomo, scheduled at the La cinema Company of Florence. The event organized in collaboration with the online magazine Ultimo romano and with CineAgenzia, and offers the viewer three unpublished and incredible stories on the theme of football, which concern distant places, impossible situations, apparently unattainable dreams which transform the playing field into a fairytale place with a happy ending. Ars Manualis, an event dedicated to artistic craftsmanship

From Thursday 16 April to Sunday 19 May in Florence, Ars Manualis will be held, an event dedicated to artistic craftsmanship which is held every month in various squares of the Tuscan capital. During the event, scheduled for both days in Piazza Santa Maria Novella, you will be able to get lost among the stalls of a real open-air showroom. Appenninia Wine Festival 2024

The ‘Appenninia Wine Festival Vicchio’ returns to Vicchio on 19 and 20 May, now in its second edition. An exhibition dedicated to wine, starting from Vicchio, Mugello and its wine producers with the aim of expanding towards the entire Italian Apennine region. Tastings and activities are planned. Ancient livestock fair

The 33rd edition of the ancient Valdarno livestock fair returns to Rignano sull’Arno on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May 2024. The fair has been a regular event for years with the aim of promoting the project for the valorisation of typical local products. A large exhibition area with typical zero kilometer products, information spaces, plants and flowers, educational workshops for the little ones, wine tasting and many other initiatives. Festival of bees and biodiversity

The appointment with excellent craft beer, street food and live music organized by the shopkeepers of CCNaturale Il Borgo degli Arlecchini returns. “Carlo Monni, are you in hell?”: tribute to the poet/actor from Champs sur le Bisance

“Carlo Monni, are you in Hell?” Eleven years after his death, the tribute show to the greatest actor/poet of Campi Bisenzio (which he renamed Champs sur le Bisance) arrives, the unforgettable Carlo Monni. Appointment on Friday 17 May at the Teatro di Rifredi. A show, they explained the promoters, “to give back to the public at least a small part of the many emotions that Carlo Monni gave us.
