Visioni sardi arrives in Viterbo

Screenings on May 18th at the San Leonardo Theater. The public prize and the prize for the diffusion of limba will be awarded

The evening which will be held on Saturday 18 May at the San Leonardo Theater is in the name of the best island cinema. The event is included within the project Sardinia in the heart of Viterbo” managed by the “Sarda Domus” club of Civitavecchia.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Cineclub del Genio/Tuscia Film Fest Association, the Sardinian Association “Il Gremio” of Rome and the large and hard-working community of Sardinians residing in the Viterbo area.

“The network of Sardinian clubs in Italy is a showcase of culture and we want to make it available to Sardinian cinema to offer a national stage to established and non-established artists – declares Ettore SerraPresident of Sarda Domus” – I Our clubs constitute an unparalleled sounding board and a precious megaphone for cinema produced in Sardinia”.

“It must be underlined – adds Serra – the importance of cinema in preserving and conveying limba throughout the world. The constant use of local dialects and the Sardinian language, in addition to making the story more true, reveals a vocation of the authors deeply rooted in their land. The “Sarda Domus” wants to reward this painting in Viterbo Francis Tomb And Chiara Tesser for the full use of the limba in the film “The Priest’s Punishment”.

The dialogues in Sardinian are subtitled in Italian in order to represent a strategic tool for the spread of limba in the peninsula and abroad. Protecting and spreading the Sardinian language throughout the world serves to revive the spiritual ties of emigrants with the island and to fuel interest and discovery in Sardinian culture among compatriots and foreigners.”

“Sardinian Visions” – goes on Enzo Cugusi, animator of the initiative – is a now consolidated project that has enjoyed the contribution of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and the Sardegna Film Commission Foundation since 2014. The The success of the event is the result of the collaboration between Cineteca di Bologna, Circolo “Antonio Gramsci di Torino”, Associazione Visioni da Ichnussa”, Italian Cultural Institutes abroad, Comites, Dante Alighieri Committees and Sardinian clubs. Everyone shares the Visioni Sarde project with the common objective of enhancing Sardinia with works of certain cultural resonance.

In Viterbo the Visioni sarde films will be subjected to the most important judgement, that of the audience in the cinema. He will supervise and will monitor the regularity of the votes Franca Farina organizer of the prize historically assigned by “Il Gremio” of Rome in its periodicals “Meetings with Sardinian cinema”.

These are the titles that will be screened in rapid sequence:

– Dahlia by Joe Juanne Piras. Dramatic thriller that tells the story of a child psychologist dealing with a very delicate and complex case. Bewilderment and obsessions alternate until they become confused;

– Come on, come on by Michela Anedda. Giuali are very different cousins: one is clean and tidy, the other is dirty and irreverent. The two, playing, find a way to go beyond appearances;

– Hooded, Foschi by Nicola Camoglio. A couple comes into contact with a gang of kidnappers, experiencing first-hand the uncertain reality of the 70s in Sardinia;

– The punishment of the priest by Francesco Tomba, Chiara Tesser. A greedy priest and a cunning blind man start a long negotiation that will lead the cunning of one to prevail over the greed of the other;

– What is mine by Gianni Cesaraccio. Four terminally ill ex-soldiers carry out one robbery after another to take back what the State has denied them;

– Ranas by Daniele Arca. the two friends face some challenges that will put their courage, their conception of life and their relationship with death to the test;

– Free beach by Ludovica Zedda. A comparison between generations and the difficulty of finding a balance between dream and reality, in the timeless setting of a deserted beach;

– I’ll wait here by Gabriele Brundu. A 9-year-old boy finds himself having to re-establish balance in his life after a shocking event that puts his jovial spirit to the test;

– Tilipirche by Francesco Piras. An invasion of locusts forces a farmer to abandon his activities and face the impossible passing of the baton with his son.

All Sardinians from Tuscia and cinephiles are invited to come to the San Leonardo Theater in via Cavour, 9, on Saturday 18 May, at 7.30 pm.

They will be spectators, critics and judges.
