Pescara, the computerized Eco Island inaugurated in via Pepe

The computerized eco-island of Via Pepe was inaugurated this morning in the presence of the Mayor of Pescara Carlo Masci, the Councilor for environmental policies Isabella Del Trecco, the President of Ambiente SpA Ricardo Chiavaroli and the company top management

The ecological island, equipped with three latest generation eco-compactors – one for multi-materials (plastic and cans), one for paper and cardboard and one for residual dry waste – will represent a new and important step in the path of environmental sustainability undertaken by the Municipal Administration. Open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, the computerized eco-island will be exclusively available to the inhabitants and businesses of Pescara Porta Nuova, who will be able to dispose of their waste in a simple, efficient and safe way.

Access to the computerized containers will take place via the AMBIENTE ECO-CARD, delivered in recent months to users of the door-to-door collection service, which will thus be integrated and strengthened, in order to offer an additional possibility to those who wish to dispose of the excess of waste or by those who are out of town on the day of recycling collection and wish to collect it in advance. The three eco-containers are extremely silent, with zero impact on the landscape, positioned on three strips of colored asphalt and monitored by a 24-hour video surveillance system. The lighting system activates automatically at dusk, optimizing energy consumption.

The computerized eco-island, created to meet the needs of extra waste, fits perfectly into the vision of a Pescara that is attentive to the environment and oriented towards the future. A combination of technology and responsibility that represents a concrete step forward towards a more livable and sustainable city.
