It is scheduled for Friday 17 May in Cremona in the gardens of Piazza Roma from 9 to 14 and in Casalmaggiore from 9.30 to 14 in Piazza Garibaldi.open day dedicated to World Hypertension Day 2024an initiative open to all citizens with blood pressure measurement, evaluation and prevention interviews with healthcare personnel.
In both locations, participants will be able to undergo a short medical interview to check their state of health by assessing cardiovascular and nephrological risk. In addition to measuring blood pressure, healthcare personnel will be available to explain the correct methods for repeating the operation at home and check the calibration of the equipment used at home.
It will be possible to ask for information on the risk factors related to arterial hypertension (family history, overweight, sedentary lifestyle, excessive salt consumption, etc.), on the possible consequences and prevention methods, to understand how to take care of yourself and when it is necessary to contact to your family doctor or a specialist.
The health promotion initiatives active in the city will also be presentedsuch as walking groups, walking buses, smoking prevention and education on healthy eating by Ats Val Padana.
The event is organized in Cremona by the Hypertension Center of the ASST of Cremona directed by Giusy Chiarelli from the Nephrology and Dialysis Unit, in collaboration with the nurse Cristina Carrara of the Outpatient Clinic, the nurses of the Hemodialysis Centre, the Association Volunteers from Robecco d’Oglio, the students of the Nursing Study Course of the University of Brescia (Cremona branch) and the Health Promotion and Behavioral Risk Factor Prevention structure of ATS Val Padana, with the patronage of the Municipality of Cremona
In Casalmaggiore the initiative is carried out by the Internal Medicine of the Oglio Po Hospital (acting director Federico Pasin), in collaboration with the Cardiology structure, the Italian Red Cross of Casalmaggiore, the Health Promotion and Behavioral Risk Factor Prevention of ATS Val Padana with the patronage of the Municipality of Casalmaggiore.
