Regarding the matter of the Classical and Scientific High School of Cuneo, the Province, well aware of its institutional role for the management of school buildings and to avoid further unnecessary alarmism, believes it needs to make some clarifications.

The events that occurred last March and also yesterday May 15th concerned exclusively the detachment of some light plasterboard tiles from the false ceiling of a classroom on the second floor and a section of the corridor on the first floor, both in the historic building on Corso Giolittiwhich fell apart due to the absorption of rainwater linked to infiltration phenomena due to the heavy rains and storms of this last period.

In addition to these squares, others were removed as a precaution that had marks and old stains. In addition to recalling that the soffits of the floor slabs above the false ceilings are protected by safety nets to prevent breakage, to avoid any detachment of brick or plaster parts, it should be noted that no phenomena of “collapses” of rubble or plaster have occurred. much less structural parts.

It is considered appropriate to highlight that the ongoing construction site, on the part of the historic building between the entrance to Corso Giolitti 11 and Via Quintino Sella 17, concerns the seismic improvement of load-bearing structuresincluded the complete renovation of the roof which will also guarantee the solution to the infiltration problems that occurred in the past (intervention financed with Pnrr funds for a total project amount of 3,080,000 euros) and is the result of evaluations within the organization’s programming for the last few years.

With the work in progress it was deemed appropriate, within the same construction site, to proceed with energy efficiency interventions requiring a further GSE loan of 1,730,000 euros for a total of over 4,800,000 euros.
