All ready for the arrival of Pope Francis in Verona next Saturday 18 May 2024. It was created to welcome the Pontiff to the city a 10 meter high statue made up of people embracing each other, placed in front of the Basilica of San Zeno.

The work had to be completed installation in two daysbut due to the bad weather that hit Verona the work was officially completed yesterday evening, Wednesday 15 May 2024.
The sculpture is 10 meters high and is located in front of the Basilica of San Zeno: a statue of Christ in bronze and steel, whose body is made up of human figures embracing one another.
AND’ the welcome greeting in Verona for the arrival in the city, this Saturday 18 May 2024, of Pope Francis who will bless it. The sculptor Alessandro Mutto supervises the works.

An idea by Roberto Brizzi
The statue was created by an idea by Roberto Brizzi with his artistic foundry BMN arte of Verona and as soon as possible he will go to Jerusalem, positioned between the Damascus gate and the Porta Nuova, on the roof of the school of the custody of the Holy Land, to complete the project of the 14 panels of the Via Crucis already created by the sculptor Mutto.
