Castellammare – Vicinanza: «A Foundation, based at the Supercinema, to develop all creative activities»
The mayoral candidate: «The theater must be acquired into public ownership. Grande Stabia invests in culture to overcome degradation.”
“The Supercinema must be acquired into public ownership, we cannot let that place of culture and entertainment be lost: for this reason we will create a cultural Foundation, between the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia, the Metropolitan City of Naples and the Campania Region, which can manage and develop all creative activities. We will create a Grande Stabia that makes culture a social lever to create economy, aggregation, to fight degradation and hardship” – so Luigi Vicinanza, candidate for mayor of the center-left in view of the next local elections of 8 and 9 June, expresses his cultural idea of the city of tomorrow and does so by meeting the artists of Stabia.
“Starting from the Foundation, we could acquire the Supercinema Theater in order to create, with the former Casa del Fascio, intended as a municipal library, a unique cultural center with various functions inside. But we must also support and govern the new spring that is experiencing the Royal Palace of Quisisana, increasingly a cultural hub thanks to the program for the valorisation of the Archaeological Park d
the Pompeii on the villas of Varano and the reopening of the Libero D’Orsi Archaeological Museum. Sites that must be easily reachable, intervening immediately on a transport system to and from the Palace, with the aid of free electric shuttles that can allow citizens and tourists to reach these places easily” – explains the candidate mayor.
“The future of our Castellammare di Stabia is based on an important investment in training. We will encourage an authentic cultural ‘explosion’ of our city! There are many associations that must be valorised. We must invade every corner, every neighbourhood, every alley to face and overcome inequalities. In the idea of Grande Stabia that we have, associations must play a crucial role in contributing to social change and improving the quality of life. I think of the prestigious presences in the fields of theatre, music and art that represent a wealth to be systematized, to be channeled into a stable path, which has continuity over time” – concludes Vicinanza.
