From the mountains to Reggio, shots by James Bragazzi

Great participation in the inauguration of the photographic exhibition of the well-known Reggio Emilia photographer, James Bragazzi, originally from the Apennines and not surprisingly loves to photograph the secret corners of the mountain, making them visible without tricks through fantastic images. Bragazzi’s life as a photographer began as a young boy to love and click mountain landscapes and continues to this day even as a pensioner. The exhibition set up at the Library of Arts, in Piazza della Vittoria in Reggio, can be visited during the opening hours of the library itself. Precisely in Reggio, James Bragazzi opened his first studio in 1974 and from then on his true profession as a photographer began, passing through all sectors of photography, first of all the landscape attracted by the changing seasonal versions. Then he went around the world always trying to capture representative images of people and the history of places, precious material which was the subject of exhibitions and publications. The most in-depth research remains, for the photographer James, that of the multicolored landscape, welcoming and confidential like his people and that of the Reggio Emilia Apennines where his family’s roots lie. The inauguration was attended by Claudio Marino, photographer from Turin, Massimo Mussini, critic, author Iames Bragazzi, Walter Ganapini and Adriano Bertolini, director of the Library of Arts (all together in the photo). Monica Leoni also spoke and explained the importance of Bragazzi’s donation of a thousand slides made in the province of Reggio and which will be made available to the public.
