“The meeting of the Fifth Commission went on for several hours and showed Verì “stuttering” on many topics, often preferring to evade questions by choosing to speak in the conditional on specific topics and ending up confirming, with his words, the figures and the concerns we expressed in the previous days on this delicate topic, despite the fact that someone in the Commission, evidently distracted, understood something completely different when talking about disproved numbers!”.
Thus in a note the regional councilors of the Democratic Party Sandro Mariani, president of the Supervisory Commission, and the group leader, Silvio Paolucci, on the meeting on the precarious situation of healthcare in Abruzzo, of the health commission of the regional council yesterday afternoon in L’Aquila. During the works, the branch councilor Nicoletta Verì and the director of the Health Department of the Abruzzo Region, Claudio D’Amario, were interviewed.
A meeting called by the president, Paolo Gatti, of FdI, at the request of Mariani himself, who in recent days had denounced a deficit in the Abruzzo healthcare system of over 122 million euros. A heavy deficit denied last night by Gatti who spoke of a hole that stands at under twenty million euros. Deficit that Mariani confirms, triggering a ballet of figures: “Trying to reassure those present, the Health Councilor confirmed operating losses in Abruzzo’s healthcare management close to 120 million euros, trying to reassure the fact that the majority would have already received sums from some budget chapters that have been lying around for years and with other operations, such as in the budget annex, the so-called “omnibus” – specifies Mariani, who underlined that the president of the Council, Marco Marsilio, of FdI was not present – given that in this case it would be a stopgap solution, limited only to the current year, and since next year the situation would become precarious again, I am very concerned about the choice to withdraw these funds from the budget annex. In fact, Verì has reassured me on the fact that this will not be cancelled, quick responses remain to be given to the associations, municipalities and entities in Abruzzo which have seen projects financed thanks to the so-called “omnibus” and must know whether these resources will be confirmed or will be taken away from them to clear up the precarious economic situation -financial aspect of health management in Abruzzo”.
