L’AQUILA Congratulations for the excellent work carried out with great spirit of self-sacrifice and investigative acumen. Thus the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rome, at the top of the Fiamme Gialle Corps with regard to the Lieutenant Colonel of the Guardia di Finanza of L’Aquila, Aurelio Soldanoin service at the Economic-Financial Police Unit of the capital of the Abruzzo Region.

The object of applause from the prestigious investigative office of the capital, the investigation started in L’Aquila and reached Rome into a mega scam concerning the competitive tests for access to the police, including the military. We started from the scam competition for enlistment in the Fiamme Gialle which was held at the School of Inspectors and Superintendents of Coppito in 2019, which would have involved a criminal association formed by two Casertanians and a Neapolitan belonging to the firefighters, and to the Penitentiary Police.

And so it turned out that around seventy young candidates had been replaced by other “better” subjects already during the written tests. They were competitors aged between 25 and 27, who instead of getting involved with their preparation, and also finding it difficult to approach the organizers of the competition or the soldiers themselves of the Corps at various levels, thought it best to become replace directly, through the simple falsification of documents and sending ‘more prepared’ others in their place. The trial is still ongoing and sees 60 defendants on trial.

Lieutenant Colonel Soldano’s investigation subsequently moved to the capital, after analyzing the voluminous investigative material. Here recently the Capitoline Prosecutor’s Office closed the preliminary investigations contesting similar fraudulent actions in the competition (for 750 places) for enlistment in the Penitentiary Police and in that (for 1851 places) in the State Police. Rehearsals held in Rome.
