Tomorrow Wednesday 15 May, at 9.30 am, at the Abele Damiani Institute in Marsala, the presentation of the book “The Grapes Tell” by Colomba Bianca.

The meeting, moderated by the journalist Rossana Titone, will feature Luigi Pasotti, director of the SIAS Eastern Sicily Catania Operational Unit, on climate anomalies and the impact on water; Vito Restivo, Area 3 SIAS Palermo management officer, on the management of the SIAS network; Luigi Neri, manager of the SIAS Sicily Caltanissetta Operational Unit, on the impact of climatic anomalies on crops; Antonino Sammartano, management officer Area 3 SIAS Palermo, on the analyzes and observations on the Tenth Bulletin; Antonino Angileri, management officer Area 3 SIAS Palermo; Filippo Paladino, vice president of Cantine Colomba Bianca, on the objectives of the “Grapes tell a story” project, Antonio Pulizzi, oenologist, on the phenological, phytopathological analysis and production trends of the main varieties; Mattia Filippi, Uvasapiens consultant, on climate change, limits or new opportunities.

The work will continue with Massimo Grillo mayor of Marsala, the honorable Stefano Pellegrino, Dario Cartabellotta general manager of the Agriculture Department, Dino Taschetta president of Cantine Colomba Bianca, Antonio Rallo president of the Onofrio Corona Doc Consortium and coordinator of the UniPA Viticulture and Oenology Degree Course and Domenico Pocorobba, president of the Agricultural Technical Institute. Cantine Colomba Bianca presents the twelfth edition of the book “The Grapes Tell”, a volume that narrates the journey of the grapes from the vineyards to the glass, delving into the characteristics of each variety and territory of origin. The 2022 edition focuses on the analysis of the past vintage, with a particular focus on the pedoclimatic conditions, the vegetative-reproductive development of the grapes and the phytopathological situation.

“The Grapes Tell” by Colomba Bianca is a volume that narrates the journey of the grapes from the vineyards to the glass, delving into the characteristics of each variety and territory of origin. The new edition focuses on the analysis of the past vintage, with a particular focus on the pedoclimatic conditions, the vegetative-reproductive development of the grapes and the phytopathological situation.

The book, created in collaboration with the regional department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Mediterranean Fisheries and the Sias – Sicilian Agrometeorological Information Service, is a real working tool for those working in the wine sector. Through the data collected and the analyzes conducted, “Le Uve narrano” offers food for thought to improve the quality of production and to face the challenges posed by climate change.
