Once the revelry for the promotion party is over, Carpi returns to the field on Wednesday 15 May for the championship match against the winners of the nine Serie D groups. The red and whites, included in the first phase in a three-way group with Pianese and Campobasso ( who conquered the Piancastagnaio pitch on Sunday), make their debut at the Cabassi against the Sienese in a match not to be missed and then play for qualification to the semi-finals on Sunday in Molise.

As expected, despite the desire to play the competition as best as possible (which however does not offer anything other than glory) Carpi will give space to those players who found less space during the championship: «It will not be a sop but a fair credit for who has given so much during the year, perhaps even off the pitch, in a match against a renowned team – says mister Cristian Serpini –. After two or three days of celebration we tried to reset to prepare for these two matches which are to be honoured, but which in any case will not touch what we have done during the year and achieved in the championship. It’s normal to let those who have struggled a lot up until now and those who have some problems take a breather, it’s right to field a team with those who are physically and mentally fresher.”
Serpini is very clear about the opponents he will face: «I saw the match between Pianese and Campobasso on Sunday and both fielded their starting teams. The Molise people really impressed me, I saw a team already from C, tough, square, with important players – says the coach -. Pianese is a good team with an excellent coach like Prosperi. We’ll face them one at a time, we’ll do a bit of turnover between one and the other given the not very comfortable trip to Campobasso on Sunday.”
The only negative aspect is a Cabassi which, on a Wednesday at 4pm, promises to be almost deserted: «We’re sorry because we could say goodbye to our fans, but we want to honor the delivery of the trophy for the championship victory that will take place at the end. As for the public, we keep the memories of what we saw last Sunday: few coaches, even from Serie C, can enjoy what we saw between the stadium and the square, we were taken aback because we had never seen anything like this.”
A joke also about his future in view of the Serie C: «There hasn’t yet been a way to talk about it with the president, the club is already busy with registration in the Lega Pro and we with the championship, but I think it’s also right to enjoy a bit ‘The moment for the result we have achieved. Then there will be a way and time to talk about the future.”
