This year marks the thirtieth anniversary of the serious flood that hit the Piedmont area and the province of Asti hard in 1994.
An event that started a series of reforms in the sector and the construction of the current regional protection system Civil.
On the occasion of the tragic anniversary, the prefect Claudio Ventrice intended to promote an exercise aimed at testing the technical-operational response capacity of the Civil Protection System in emergencies and, at the same time, to raise citizens’ awareness on the delicate issues of the culture of risk prevention and resilience.
The event, which will take place on the morning of May 17th, will involve the various institutional and voluntary components, called to intervene in the territory, both with coordination and operational tasks.
The exercise will hypothesize the scenario of a torrent flood event Belbowith the possibility of the collapse of part of the embankment to protect the built-up area of the center of Canelli and at the same time affecting the territory adjacent to the Municipality itself.
On this occasion, the coordination rooms and operations roomsat the provincial and municipal level. Various interventions are also planned in the area, which will see men from the police force, fire brigade, medical aid and the world of volunteers engaged in training activities.
