Camogli: meeting with Pino Petruzzelli

From the “Ochin Okinawa” Association

Monday 17 June, 9pm

Camogli, Bocciofila, via Bettolo 9

Erkin, the last fish of the Aral Sea: that is, Pino Petruzzelli, actor, writer and director, talks with Silvia Neonato and Silvia Pesaro about his journey as an artist and his recent show

He frequented the nomadic camps, he traveled among the peoples of the Mediterranean, he collected testimonies from the surviving shipwrights, he frequented the streets where migrants get lost, he learned about working in the woods, vines and long-lived trees, he had masters of life like Rigoni Stern and Bonhoeffer. And each of these experiences entered his shows: the fatigue of work, the vulnerability of the “last” and the defense of nature.

Pino Petruzzelli is an all-round artist (teaching at the Silvio d’Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome, books, shows, the blog on Fatto Quotidiano, articles) who has made civil and social the underlying theme of its existence. Today he is the director of that widespread museum that is Liguria delle Arti.

His rehearsal room is on the Righi hill, on the paths where he memorizes aloud the monologues to perform in the theater as he walks. This is also how his recent script between truth and fantastic invention was born: it is a reportage about a fish gasping for air in the almost dry Aral Sea, a real catastrophe, from which he saves himself by transforming into a bird.

Free admission.

Cover up because the place is very cool.
