CIVITANOVA MARCHE – Civitanova Marche wins its 21st Blue Flag. The award ceremony will be held today in Rome. «Once again we qualify ourselves as a quality seaside tourist city, respectful of the principles of environmental sustainability and inclusiveness» is the comment of the mayor Fabrizio Ciarapica, who took part in the ceremony at the headquarters of the National Research Center of the FEE, Foundation for Environmental Education, together with the councilor for sustainable mobility Roberta Belletti.
Among the criteria for obtaining the prestigious banner are water quality, services to make the beaches accessible and safety, adequate number of rescue personnel and/or rescue equipment available on the beach, sensitivity and attention towards sustainable mobility, but also a series of services for separate waste collection and green areas.
«It is the 21st Blue Flag for Civitanova – commented Mayor Ciarapica -. I am proud of the work done in recent years and of the path that we are all pursuing together. Once again we qualify ourselves as a quality seaside tourist city, respectful of the principles of environmental sustainability and inclusiveness. A city that improves every year and does so also thanks to the synergy with tourist and beach operators.”
«Receiving the Blue Flag 21 consecutive times – added councilor Roberta Belletti – is a great reward for the work that this administration is carrying out on multiple fronts. Among these is also the one on sustainable mobility. In this regard, I want to remember “Primavera in bici”, the first festival organized in Civitanova to encourage the use of two wheels, the meetings on the ecological transition which involved hundreds of students and we will soon also create new cycle paths. Definitely a starting point for a Civitanova attentive to its future.”
