The documentary “Until the end of the world” also stops in Agrigento

The screening of the documentary “Until the end of the world” (Italy, 2024, 58 min.), winner of the Environment Award at the XXI International Ocean Film Festival in San Francisco and dedicated to the environmental impact of intensive fish farming.

Present to discuss with the spectators will be Francesco De Augustinis, freelance journalist and creator in 2019 of “One Earth”, an independent project on food production, environment and public health.

The documentary is a journey across three continents – from Umbria to Patagonia, passing through Greece, Spain and Senegal – to discover the fastest growing food sector, i.e. fish farming, with consequences on the environment and society not very different from those of intensive livestock farming. A sector, that of fish farming, which – faced with a world population that could reach 9.7 billion people in 2050 – promises to contribute to making the food system more sustainable, but in different parts of the world the communities that they fight to safeguard their very existence.

The Agrigento initiative – with free entry until seats last – is proposed by the Rabat club of Legambiente, by the Arci “John Belushi” club and by the Slow Migrants community “Zagara” and is part of a presentation tour that will also touch Palermo , Catania, Milazzo and Messina, organized by One Earth in collaboration with Legambiente Sicilia, Slow Food Sicily and their respective territories.
