Electric cars for the post office, Olbia is increasingly greener

The arrival of the new electric cars at the Olbia post office.

The fleet is expanding”Green” of the Delivery Center of Italian post in Olbia. Recently, in fact, a further 3 electric vehicles were adopted by the headquarters in via Giordania, which are added to the other 221 “ecological” vehicles of the Northern Sardiniaincluding electric and hybrid cars, low-emission electric and thermal tricycles, electric quadricycles, for the delivery of parcels and correspondence.

Thanks to these new means, therefore, in Olbia mail travels in an increasingly sustainable way throughout the delivery process. The new vehicles in the Poste Italiane fleet have been modified and made functional to the needs of the Postal Service; for example, in some cars, the passenger seat is equipped with a particular arrangement for housing the boxes or particular shelving for the transport of parcels. Still others have ad hoc accessories for the mission of Poste Italiane, such as the Keyless Entry&Start system for remote driver recognition. Thanks to this technology, the doors and the tailgate are they unlock automaticallyfacilitating the work of operators.

The renewal of company fleet from a sustainable perspective it is part of the new 2024-2028 industrial plan: “The Connecting Platform” which aims to transform logistics and evolve a commercial model serving customerswith the aim of looking at a new segment made up of small and medium-sized enterprises, contributing to the end-to-end logistical development of a postal network and a network increasingly driven by parcel management.

A further step forward for the group led by the CEO Matteo Del Fante towards achieving the goal of carbon neutrality 2050.
