Barletta is preparing to experience a prestigious international event organized within the G7, which will see its main event in the summit of world leaders in Borgo Egnazia, from 13th to 16th June. The City of the Challenge has been chosen to host the International Philosophy Summit “Conviviality and dialogue between peoples”, based on the themes of knowledge in 21st century society, which will take place in the “Giuseppe Curci” municipal theater on 23 and 24 May .

The event is organized, with the High Patronage of the Italian Presidency of the G7, by the Department of Humanistic Research and Innovation of the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”, by the Presidency of the XXV edition of the World Congress of Philosophy 2024 and by the Municipality of Barletta in collaboration with the Puglia Region. During the two days of philosophical reflection, the presence of some of the major intellectual figures from the G7 countries and beyond is expected.

The work will develop in two phases: in the first, during the mornings, the international guests will meet in closed session at the Barletta Castle to draft a document on the topic of interculturality in the 21st century to be sent to the G7 Presidency. The second, in the two evenings open to the public in the “Curci” Theater, includes open discussions for the benefit of those present, followed by moments of entertainment.

Participation in the evenings of the 23rd and 24th will be free and free upon registration to be sent to the email address of the organizational secretariat [email protected], indicating name/surname, date of birth, municipality of residence and identity document number. The Mayor of Barletta Cosimo Cannito and the Councilor for Culture Oronzo Cilli underline the exponential value of the event, of absolute appeal, which “places us at the center of a thematic comparison of the highest level. For two days the City will be at the center of a international debate of the highest order and it is an honor to host it while simultaneously giving prominence to the historical and cultural heritage. It is a further testimony to the growth potential that Barletta can and must propose to the territory, to the whole country, to increasingly broader and innovative scenarios. of which our attention is always high and our warmest welcome to the public.”
