Inzaghi awarded at the Gotico: “Proud, I am increasingly linked to Piacenza”

Simone Inzaghi interviewed by journalists Paolo Gentilotti and Giorgio Lambri

Banners, chants and sky-high enthusiasm (obviously two…) for Simone Inzaghithe Inter coach awarded today, 14 May, by the Municipality of Piacenza for being the first Piacenza player to win the Serie A scudetto.

“I am proud to receive this recognition – he said entering Palazzo Gotico between two rows of fans – because I always carry this land with me. Since I have lived in Milan I have often returned to visit my family and historical friends, who have still remained such and to whom I am always close.”

Did you expect so much enthusiasm? “I am very pleased to see so many people from Piacenza welcoming me, I am proud to also bring the name of my city around Italy and Europe. I thank the administration for this award, it is very significant for me.”

Then the barrage of questions about Inter: “I hope and believe I can announce the renewal soon, I have found a perfect environment to work in, the results we have obtained are not random but the result of the professionalism of the entire organization and obviously of the group solidity that was created with the players.”

Before the award was presented by Mayor Katia Tarasconi, Inzaghi retraced the stages of his career and life together with Libertà journalists Giorgio Lambri and Paolo Gentilotti.
