Hypothesis one (according to ‘insiders’ the most probable): in the second round the Democratic candidate Sara Funaro wins the seat of Palazzo Vecchio without any particular worries and also without the need to ‘come to terms’ with some of the first’s competitors tour capable of bringing a little water to the centre-left’s mill. Let’s try to throw it down even if the games are still wide open. Of course, the champion of dem preferences Letizia Perini, who got 1,199, should be given a department, probably the social one. Andrea Giorgio, who was not a candidate but is Elly Schlein’s point man in Florence, could have urban planning responsibilities. And again Jacopo Vicini, second on the PD list with 961 certificates of confidence on the ballot papers, should go to the department of sport, but he could also be given the department of tourism, equally important in these latitudes. Another champion of preferences is Laura Sparavigna.
It is unlikely that he will remain out of the council’s team, where Benedetta Albanese, who is very close to Funaro, could also return. However, according to some, the surprise name could be that of Beatrice Barbieri, another figure very close to the centre-left mayoral candidate. A councilorship could also fall to Fabio Giorgetti and one also to the preference champion of the Funaro List, Michela Monaco. Green, logically, could perhaps fall to Caterina Arciprete, 622 preferences in the Alleanza Verdi Sinistra list. Among the outgoing (and returning) is Cosimo Guccione. What if he were the new president of the city council? And for safety we are thinking of an external super technician.
