“The high-speed station”

The Forlì station will be one of the high-speed locations after the quadrupling of the Bologna-Lecce railway line, which the Government will finance with three billion and 600 million euros. Galeazzo Bignami, deputy minister of Infrastructure and Transport, said this at the conference which was held at the Chamber of Commerce and which had infrastructure as its central theme. The first section of the line on which the works will be carried out will be the one between Bologna, Imola and up to Castel Bolognese, which should see the completion of the work by 2025, while the following section, which will concern Forlì and Rimini, should be closed between 2026 and 2027.

“In Forlì two tracks cannot be added because this would mean gutting the station and this is not possible and therefore the section dedicated to goods must be separated from that for passengers and this division will also benefit Ravenna and the activities of its port” . Bignami also made it clear that the Government has included the planning of the section between Ravenna and Mestre of the E45 in the program contract with Anas, furthermore he also communicated that the definition of the Simplified Logistics Zone for the Emilia Romagna.

Instead Andrea Corsini, Councilor for Tourism, Transport, Infrastructure and Commerce of the Region, reiterated the effective collaboration of the Region with the Government for the grounding of certain works, also intervening to support their planning. Corsini spoke specifically about road transport, stating that “infrastructures are fundamental and strategic for a modern and competitive country because, made with due attention to the environment, they also improve the quality of life of citizens”, then adding “that it was a shame that the roads were not included among the works to be financed in the Pnrr”.

Going into specifics, the councilor took stock of two major works in progress in the near future “because we have to select the works to carry out and we don’t have to follow the shopping list city by city and area by area. The priority of priority is to strengthen the regional motorway network and the road network of the various territories. The new Bologna bypass and the interconnection between the various road networks will bring benefits not only to the Bologna area, but to the north and south areas and by south I mean. all the areas with high tourist reception which can be reached more quickly. It will be an impactful construction site – continued Corsini – and will last four years, during which we will still guarantee practicability while trying to reduce inconvenience to a minimum”.

Another important theme, on which the attention and requests of some entrepreneurs present at the conference were also focused, is the Cispadana: “After 12 years we have managed to reconvene the Services Conference and the work will be able to begin; 67 kilometers of regional motorway that will connect the Reggiolo toll booth on the A22 to the Bologna-Ferrara connection on the A 13, thus making it possible for those coming from Brenner not to pass through Bologna they are also those carried out in provinces outside of Romagna. We hope – concluded Corsini, addressing Bignami with a smile – that in the next ‘Financial elections’ there will also be the funds to be able to finance other relevant works such as Ravegnana”.
