At the same time, the students of the Council of Boys and Girls will participate in a series of educational activities to raise their awareness of issues of fundamental importance, such as Children’s Rights Day, non-violence education, traffic education, a meeting with paediatricians to understand the importance of physical activity for health and much more that the speakers of this first programmatic event will tell you about. For the children, for the school managers and for the teachers who will accompany them on this journey, it will be an unforgettable experience of approaching institutional life, based on active participation. We will form a team that, together, will lead us to make our city suitable for the little ones too.”
It was held today First programmatic meeting for the Council of girls and boys, which will start in September 2024, in the De Pasquale hall of the Municipality of Latina, an operational meeting to establish the methods by which it will be carried out. Participating were the Mayor Matilde Celentano, the councilor for Education Francesca Tesone, the secretary of the Mayor who helped start the project, the contact person appointed by the first citizen, the councilor Francesca Pagano, the contact person for the district administration Amelia Valleriani, the facilitator Emilia De Nardis and the schools interested in the project.
“The project – comments councilor Tesone – is aimed at fourth and fifth grade students and the final number will be established in September based on the number of schools that will join the project and will be an equal number between girls and boys. We are confident in the active participation of the local institutes, who will thus be able to seize this opportunity for active participation in institutional life. I therefore appeal to all schools, teachers and parents who have time to join the project by June 30th.”
“I thank the Mayor Matilde Celentano – says councilor Pagano – for the appointment of councilor in charge of the project, the councilors Francesca Tesone and Andrea Chiarato for their support for the realization of the project and the entire team in charge as well as the councilors and commission presidents present in the room today. This is an initiative for the city in which the entire administration will be involved in its implementation. It has no political colours, it is transversal and its aim is to make Latina a child-friendly city, suitable for everyone and which leaves no one behind. The detailed program of the activities that will take place for the year 2024-2025 was presented today. The next meeting will be operational and directly with the schools that have decided to join, to then proceed with the extraction of children from the various comprehensive institutions”.
