TRENT. Ten days after the inauguration of the 2024 edition of the Trento Economics Festival, the spaces of the historic center of the capital are turning orange.

In fact, work is underway to set up the stands and pavilions which will welcome experts and visitors, together with areas dedicated to entertainment and leisure.

The event, organized by the Gruppo 24 Ore e Trentino marketing on behalf of the Autonomous Province of Trento, in collaboration with the Municipality and the University of Trento, will begin on May 23rd and end on Sunday May 26th.

There are five places to get information, entertain and have fun: Piazza Duomo, Piazza Fiera, Piazza Mostra, Piazza Cesare Battisti and Piazza Pasi.

The Festival bookshop curated by the Trentino booksellers’ association returns to Piazza Duomo.

Among the places of Outside the Festivalthe “new entry” is piazza Mostra, where initiatives dedicated to families will find space; Piazza Fiera will host music and events, while the daily press review will take place in Piazza Pasi.

Piazza Cesare Battisti will be the stage for Radio24, live. Added to these spaces is the Augustinian Cloister, which will host presentations of books published by Luiss University Press and debates with the authors. All the streets of the center will then be animated, thanks to the actors of the “Silent theatre”, organized by Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano.

What is happening globally, between 60 wars in the world and elections in 76 countries, increasingly justifies the question “Quo Vadis? The dilemmas of our time”an emblematic title chosen for the 2024 edition of the Festival by the festival’s advisory board (made up of the Director of Il Sole 24 Ore and president of the Scientific Committee Fabio Tamburini, Paolo Magri, Emma Marcegaglia, Monica Mondardini, Giulio Sapelli, Giulio Tremonti).

The opening speech of the inaugural ceremony of the Festival will be by Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasipresident emeritus of the pontifical council for culture, in dialogue with Lavinia Biagiot Cigna, president and CEO of Biagiotti Group, while the closing of the Festival on Sunday 26 May will be entrusted to the president of Confindustria Emanuele Orsini, interviewed by the Director of Il Sole 24 Ore Fabio Tamburini.

Ten panels dedicated to the impact of artificial intelligence in our lives. In particular, discussing the role of Europe in the AI ​​map between the United States and China will be, among others, Uljan Sharka, CEO of iGenius.

Return the Outside the Festival, the great innovation that has allowed, in recent years of management of the 24 Ore-Trentino Marketing group, to bring the younger public closer to the economy and the major issues of current affairs. This year too the schedule will be full of talks, workshops, entertainment and performances in which talents, creators and influencers who speak the language of young people for young people will take part.

It’s back again this year the appointment with the Pnrr Observatory of the Sole 24 Ore to which is added the new appointment with the Observatory on the energy transition.

A special event with the participation of Donato Masciandaro, professor of Bocconi University and director of the Mef Financial Education Committee, will then be dedicated to the anniversary of Financial education poster presented during last year’s Festival by Gruppo 24 Ore.

The numerous dilemmas and doubts of our era come to “put the party of optimists into crisis and sow concerns and uncertainties about the future, which must deal with pressing questions, namely the dilemmas of our lives”, explains Fabio Tamburini, director of Il Sole 24 Ore, presenting the Festival.
