The extraordinary commissioner of the Mediterranean Games, Massimo Ferrarese, signed the agreement this morning with the mayor of Brindisi, Giuseppe Marchionna, which gives the green light to funding for the city’s sports facilities. Ten million euros will be allocated to Brindisi, of which six for the stadium and four for the sports hall car parks. Together with these other funds they will also be available for Francavilla Fontana, Fasano and Oria. Fasano, after the approval of ministers Fitto, Abodi and Giorgetti, will be the next municipality to sign the agreement while Francavilla Fontana and Oria are being evaluated, having been excluded in 2022 with the previous Committee due to limited resources. Today that the Government has integrated the funds already allocated with another 125 million euros, there will be the possibility of expanding the range of beneficiary structures and for which the Municipalities are already ready with the definitive projects.
