In addition to the satisfaction for the victory in the regional play offs, the president of Vigor Lamezia, Salvatore Rettura, after the green-and-whites’ 4-0 defeat of Cittanova, also focused on the near future of the green-and-whites.

Top manager since this season, the entrepreneur from Lamezia responded on a highly topical issue such as the management of the “Guido D’Ippolito”: after 2 unsuccessful tenders by the Municipality, the plant in via Marconi has in the meantime returned to being colored green and white (even if the offices in via Perugini would not completely agree on the methods followed by the company), but Rettura himself has listed how the costs management requirements are very high and unsustainable for a natural grass structure which, to be used to its best advantage, cannot withstand multiple matches and training sessions in close quarters. A well-known and cyclical theme, both in past Vigore managements and with the transfers of other subsequent companies.

FC Lamezia Terme having disappeared since November, now the issue directly concerns Vigor Lamezia which is the only other club that currently plays in the facility, even if it is not excluded that next season Sambiase could also be involved, given that the work on the “Gianni Renda” should start with the start of the next Serie D championship.

In this regard, Rettura thus spoke of the need to find other sponsors, also hoping to recover some “prodic sons” who at the beginning of the season had embraced the yellow and blue cause in Serie D, both to better face the next season, whether it be Eccellenza or Serie D , than to manage the structures better. The president estimates that the logistical costs, between the amount paid for training on the synthetic pitch in Pianopoli and the use of the “D’Ippolito”, are equal to 5 players in the squad, and ensuring that he does not want to take the extra step of the leg in the economic field is already being warned about how cohabitation with other teams would not be feasible (both by managers and simple paying users) and it would be necessary to quickly find an alternative solution for training (Renda and Riga, managed by Sambiase and Promosport, will also be further limited in space by the works linked to the Pnrr, for Provenzano and Fronti the Municipality is awaiting proposals for finance projects). Rettura however, despite all the premises, is self-evident in his conclusions: «The D’Ippolito is Vigor’s stadium, you must necessarily take it over even if it is too expensive».

On a sporting level, in his first experience with the green and white (previously he had performed in the field of men’s volleyball, an experience which later ended due to the problem of the sports facilities under the management of the commissioner), the president already considers the seasonal progress to be positive given that in any case after two promotions Vigor is in the running for a third leap in category, «and it wasn’t easy» he specifies, recalling the recent experiences of the other companies from Lamezia, «certainly we don’t just have to think from the heart, in past years presidents out of too much passion then spent more than as much as possible. There are no defections for next year that I know of, from June we will be looking for new sponsors to recover costs such as 15,000 euros to train, 12,000 euros to play at home, we are counting on the renewed enthusiasm and the absence of the competition that was there previously with FC”.
