The control activity of the territory has been further intensified in recent days by the financiers of the Provincial Command of Rovigo.
“On Saturday evening – confirms the press note from the provincial command of Rovigo – the soldiers of the city’s Guardia di Finanza Group, supported by the anti-drug canine units of the Padua Group, they carried out massive checks near the train station city and aimed at all arriving and departing travellers”.
“As part of these checks, two people were identified who, following the report from the unit, showed a certain nervousness. In fact, the checks were thorough were found in possession of narcotic substances (as emerged from the drop tests carried out immediately) and for these reasons, in the accusatory hypothesis, they were reported to the local Public Prosecutor’s Office for the crime of “detention for the purpose of dealing narcotic substances (art.73 Presidential Decree 309/90) ”.
“In particular – the finance reconstruction continues – a 23-year-old was found in possession of 26 grams of hashish, a 52-year-old in possession of 1 syringe containing cocaine, liquid, hashish for approximately 43 grams as well as modest quantities of other substance probably astonishing but not yet identified”.
“Having been found in possession of a cutting blade of approximately 11 cm, he was also reported, in the accusatory hypothesis, also for the crime referred to in the art. 4 of Law 110/1975 for the “illegal carrying of weapons or objects capable of offending”.
“At the request of the financiers, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rovigo also took action against him the house search during which three Indian hemp plants were found approximately 30cm high. The documents have been validated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the related proceedings are currently in the preliminary investigation phase. The position of the two managers is therefore being examined by the Judicial Authority.”
Towards a third party only a few grams of hashish were seized pfor personal use and for this reason (pursuant to art. 75 of Presidential Decree 309/90) his position is being examined by the Prefect of Rovigo, as his conduct does not constitute a violation of criminal regulations.
“All those responsible are of Italian nationality. The Guardia di Finanza makes an important effort in carrying out economic control activities in the territory which aim to increase the sense of security of citizens”.
