The Young Musicians European Orchestra returns with the traditional concert in favor of the Romagna Oncology Institute

The Young Musicians European Orchestra returns again this year with the traditional concert in favor of the Romagna Oncology Institute intended to support the IOR’s projects for Oncology in Ravenna.

The concert will be held at the Basilica of San Giovanni Evangelista in Ravenna on May 26th at 9pm.

It will be an excellent opportunity to listen again to the young soloists of the Young Musicians European Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Paolo Olmi in a virtuosic and varied program with music by Bach, Tchaikowsky, Verdi and Vivaldi.

The soloists will be the violinists Lodovico Parravicini, Alban Lukaj and Martino Colombo, the cellist Raffaella Cardaropoli, the soprano Giorgia Costantino and the mezzo-soprano Maria Lucia Bazza.

During the press conference which took place today at the Onocology department of the Ravenna department, Maestro Olmi underlined how the concert programme, together with well-known pieces which are part of the repertoire, also presents to the public a rarely performed page such as Vivaldi’s Concerto in D major written for the Solemnity of the Language of Saint Anthony. The composer himself performed it in Padua in 1712 during the annual celebrations in memory of the Saint’s relic.

The Governor-designate of the Lions Club District 108 Mario Boccaccini brought greetings from his clubs and assured the maximum support for the initiative. While the President of the Friends of the IOR Mario Pretolani and the Head of the Oncology Department of Ravenna, Doctor Stefano Tamberi, thanked the Orchestra for having offered such a high level musical event for the third year.

The proceeds of the evening will be donated to support IOR projects for Oncology in Ravenna.

The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Municipality of Ravenna, the four Lions Clubs of Ravenna (Ravenna Host, Ravenna Bisanzio, Ravenna Dante Alighieri, Romagna Padusa), Cidim and Romagna Acque.

Tickets cost 30 euros for the numbered central nave or 10 euros for the unnumbered side nave and can be purchased online on VivaTicket.
