PESARO – The parents were looking for him but their son still didn’t answer his cell phone. Worried, they raised the alarm and soon after the shock: he had died in the bathroom. His name was Filippo Gasperini, he had recently turned 45 and he was a street trader. But above all he was a great lover of animals, cats in particular, with an active role in that microcosm that is the world of volunteers, who are committed to giving a family to strays or helping those who have lost their four-legged friend. .
The discovery
It happened yesterday morning on Colle Ardizio, in via Luigi Pirandello. Filippo Gasperini did not live far from his family. The latter continued to call him but he did not answer and they became worried. They raised the alarm and, shortly afterwards, a fire brigade team arrived on site together with an 118 ambulance and a carabinieri patrol. Once they managed to enter the house, it didn’t take much to discover the man’s body lying in the bathroom.

There was already nothing more that could be done for him and according to the first findings his death dated back to a few hours earlier, which occurred at the turn of the night between Saturday and Sunday. As for the causes of death, it will be the autopsy that has been arranged to clarify. The news of the death of Filippo “Filo” Gasperini spread rapidly yesterday morning in circles linked to the world of volunteers who take care of stray animals. A shock for “Le primule di Eva”, some members knew the 45 year old well: «Sensitive, particular and with a big heart».
Yesterday, many began to post a memory of the man who was always there when there was a need to help some animal in difficulty. «When they ask me who makes you spend your days capturing, caring for, saving animals, most often cats – he wrote – I answer by showing them a photo, the photo of a small black kitten found in Loreto in the engine of a car and who now sleeps happily adopted with her new five-year-old owner.”
