The actress and presenter Anna Falchi will be the godmother of the historical parade of the Palio of Ferrara which will be held on Saturday from 9pm. This was announced by the vice mayor of the Municipality of Ferrara and councilor with delegation to the Palio, yesterday morning in the municipal square during the second and final day dedicated to the ancient flag games. “I’m waiting for you in the wonderful setting of the historic center of Ferrara – Anna Falchi explained in a video – during the magnificent procession with the ducal court, the eight districts and the thousand figures that will travel through the city”. In the races of the ancient games of the 2024 edition Palio, confirmations and innovations alternated. The single was won by San Giovanni with Luca Ghinassi, second by Santa Maria in Vado with Alessandro Tortorici and third by San Luca with Fabio Zonari, fourth by the multiple Italian champion Andrea Baraldi of San Giacomo who during the awards ceremony announced his intention to say goodbye. In the “Small team” specialty Santo Spirito prevailed. Followed by Contrada San Luca, Ente Palio of the city of Ferrara, Santa Maria in Vado, Contrada San Giorgio, village, San Giovanni, Contrada San Paolo and San Benedetto. In the music specialty, Contrada di San Luca achieved success in front of San Giacomo and followed by Rione Santo Spirito in third place. In the single category, as anticipated, victory for Ghinassi for Borgo San Giovanni. In the “couple” specialty, the victory went to Ghinassi-Lionelli from San Giovanni, ahead of the Cona-Zonari couple from San Luca, third was the Tortorici Vezzalli couple from Santa Maria in Vado. In the “Great team” category, Contrada di San Luca triumphed ahead of San Giacomo and the Rione Santo Spirito. San Luca, thanks to the successes in the various specialties, also won the victory in the “combined”. “A great success in attendance – explained Nicola Borsetti, president of the Palio di Ferrara Foundation – and in young people, who are the future we are aiming for”. So meet on Saturday 18 May from 9pm starting from the “prospect” to travel along Corso Giovecca entirely, until reaching the center of Ferrara passing in front of the Estense Castle.
